The last two weekends we’ve gone out to 2 different public events in our area. Some Saturdays we just stay home and lounge around the house. Brad and I love that. Landon doesn’t do too well with that. He gets too stir crazy (read: get’s into trouble) unless we’re home with some major plans of activity or chores.
Last Saturday we headed over to a local World Music Festival. We had a pretty good time. It was held at our local university. They had performers of all different types of music from all over the world. They even had a kids stage where local children’s groups performed. It was great to see such a support of music and a venue for the children to perform.
They had vendors selling local handmade crafts and tons of food options. We spent most of our time was in the kid’s activity area though. Landon made this mask that he was super proud of:
There were stations for painting, instrument making, crafts, and some hands on science stations for exploring the science of sound.
This weekend we went to the annual Salmon Festival. My father in law came with us – Landon had a great time dragging him from booth to booth (or was it the other way around?)
They had a good amount of things for kids to do, which was fun, but I think Landon liked looking at the fish and the spawn more than the kid activities.
It was hot thought, which made it a little miserable. Landon was so tired when we were done he was all but asleep in the car on the way home. I totally love that look. It’s the “I see you taking a picture of me and will protest to it if you continue” look (which he did).
A few days ago Landon and Riley had Landon’s camera out. Landon was taking pictures of Riley, then Riley picked it up and was like a pro – totally knew what to do with it, at only a year old! (I might take this as a hint that I take too many pictures??? Nah!)
Last picture – really doesn’t have much to do with anything other than Riley being adorable:
