Things Kids Say
This morning, Landon crawled in bed with us and snuggled in between Brad and I. He does this every morning. Today he snuggles in closer to Brad, looks up at him and says in a very matter of fact voice, “Don’t do anything. Don’t tickle me, don’t poke me, don’t bother me.” I was dying…

Fear of water
Fear of water is a funny thing. We went to Shawn and Lacey’s apartment tonight to go swimming in their pool. This is the first time this summer that Landon’s been at a pool. We’ve gone to the creek a few times to dip our toes in and throw rocks, but no swimming. Last summer…

Snickerdoodles and life lessons
More cooking adventures today. Landon’s allergies make baking more challenging, but over the last two years making some gluten free, dairy free, egg free snickerdoodles doesn’t scare me. There are so many wonderful food blogs out there now dedicated to gluten free cooking. There are many wonderful ones also dedicated to vegan cooking (takes out…

Look Who’s Crawling!
Riley at 9 months 3 days crawled! He’s been so close for so long. He doesn’t really crawl in that he moves his legs back and forith, but has figured out that if he keeps up on his knees with his belly off the ground he can pull his body forward. Hey – it’s a…

Everyday Life – Granola Bars and Parks
While I was working full time waiting for the school year to end my mom so graciously made batches of granola bars for Landon. With all of his food allergies a snack like a granola bar is impossible to buy and when every second of your life is filled with work, sleep and some form…

Everyday Life – Getting settled in
We have been in our new home for almost two weeks. Its amazing how fast the time has gone. In many ways it feels like we’ve been here for much long than two weeks, and in other ways it feels like we’re just on a long vacation. I started hanging pictures and decorations yesterday so…

Everyday Life (or not so) – Moving
So we have finally made the move! We are now in the new house, slowly getting unpacked and settled in. I love our new life, house and being a full time stay at home mom now. I promise to post more as we get the house more settled. Every second is filled with unpacking boxes…

Everyday Life – “That” kid
We’ve all done it before we’ve had a kid of our own and vowed we would never have “that” kid. You know, the one that is screaming at the top of his lungs in the middle of a nice a quiet store, kicking and screaming and flailing his arms. Did I mention screaming? Yeah – that…
