About Me

I am a mother of 2 wonderful children and 1 wonderful husband. Landon my oldest was born in August of 2009, and Riley was born September of 2011. Brad and I have been married since 2004. If you would have asked me 5 years ago (heck, even 1 year ago) if we would be where we are now I would have never guessed. I kind of take that as a lesson to stop guessing in life, and though I am a crazy and obsessive at planning, I am realizing that the best way to go about life is to go with the flow. Every plan I make never works out the way I have planned anyway – not to say that the outcome isn’t as good if not better than I had originally hoped.

In May of 2012 I was able to leave my other job as a kindergarten teacher and be a stay at home mom full time. I want this blog to become a journal of sorts, for my everyday life events and thoughts on motherhood, parenting, and life in general. I am so excited for this new chapter of my life and can’t wait to see where I end up 5 years from now.

    Just discovered your blog through Pintrest and the ever popular crock pot series-but in glancing through it, i’m excited to look at some of your “thematic units”. My little Buddy (nearly 4 yrs) have been doing some homeschooling type things while his sister naps on the days he doesn’t have school. Looks like you have some great ideas for our time together!

    Thanks for sharing! Another great thing to do is get your sale turkey at Thanksgiving. $0.39 right now at my supermarket. And my family’s favorite, Christmas and Easter honey sliced hams, about the same price per pound for the holidays. My tradition, which feeds us for a week, is a big ole ham (and sides) and then save the ham bone and make lentil soup. Which is spices, 16 oz lentils, and a bunch of veggies (onions, celery, carrots, diced tomatoes). My son just loves lentil soup and it’s a one pot dish, so I love it too! Sometimes I get some nice bread to go with it.
